As you are well aware, for many years there has been a long standing partnership between the Hayes Presidential Library & Museums and the Fremont Rotary Club to provide an Easter Egg Hunt for the School of Hope. This year’s event will be held on Tuesday, April 23rd from 1:00 to 2:00 pm. Along with the financial contribution, we are also appreciative of Rotary members volunteering during the event. WE NEED 12-15 volunteers and please be at Hayes Presidential by 12:45 pm to welcome the students upon arrival. I know that those who participated in the past have really enjoyed spending time with the students. This provides a wonderful interactive opportunity for all involved. Students from the Hayes Elementary school will hopefully be joining us as they did last year. They are on spring break the week of April 3rd, but their principal is trying to work something out so that their students can still participate. I’m pleased with how the event has evolved over the years. We couldn’t offer such a unique educational event for Fremont’s students without Rotary’s support. from Rotarian Christie Weininger |

Our Club is hosting the fellowship dinner for 2019 MESA riders at Easter Seals' adult day care facility. Easter Seals is celebrating its centennial year, and Fremont location has recently built a new building to provide such services local around Sandusky County. Rotary and Easter Seals has very close connection ... The Foundation’s first grant $500 in 1930. Benefited International Society for Crippled Children (also known as Easter Seals). Why the International Society for Crippled Children? Rotary member Edgar F. Allen started the International Society for Crippled Children (Easter Seals) in 1919, after his work to build a hospital in his hometown of Elyria, Ohio, USA, had made him aware that children with disabilities were often hidden from public view. Other Rotary members were also working to help children with disabilities, and Rotary’s 1922 convention encouraged clubs to take similar action. Hence, Easter Seals seemed a logical choice for the Foundation's support. |
