ROTARY CLUB OF FREMONT, OHIO
STRIVE COMMITTEE ACTIVITIES REPORT
- Program restructured due to pandemic. Students in the program are completing their education 100% virtually from their homes. All have been identified as being at risk.
- 8 mentors, 6 of whom are from our Club.
- Weekly virtual meetings between mentors and students are continuing through May 14.
- The monthly group meeting was held via Zoom on March 17, with 17 participants, including 6 students, 4 Rotarians, 4 mentors (all of whom are also Rotarians), 2 community professionals and a school staff person.
- The program topic was “How to Make a Good First Impression,” with a panel of Rotarians and community professionals providing tips on this subject.
- Goody bags containing inspirations, study tips, snacks, drinks, and information about how to find jobs were delivered to students at their homes prior to the group meeting.
- Three students have submitted applications for a STRIVE scholarship. Students were reminded that Ms. Huth has information about many other scholarships.
~Spring break will begin on March 29, and school will resume on April 5.
~The final group meeting will be held on April 21, with awards given out and an end of the year celebration.
