Fremont Rotary Club is proud to present the winning essays from the Rotary Four-Way Test Essay Contest held at Fremont Middle School.
 
We would like to thank Principal Erin Parker for her support, Mrs. Polly Garlock and Mrs. Samantha Burdue, both Grade 8 English Language Arts Teachers for assisting our Club in organizing the essay contest among her 8th grade students.
 
The 8th grade students were asked to submit an essay approximately 1,000 words on topic: “Rotary’s Four-Way Test and What it Means to the Conduct of my Daily Life”.
 
Rotarian Christie thanked the judges which comprises: Past President Pam Hoesman (Executive Director of Birchard Public Library), Past President Cheryl Cotter (former Superintendent of School of Hope), and Immediate Past President Scott Lang for reading the submitted essays and picked the winners.

2nd place winner (with $100 monetary award) -Rozalyn Payton "Light in the Darkness", Rotarian Christie Weninger,  1st place winner (with $200 monetary award) -Kirsten Twiss "Foes Can Be Friends", and Rotarian Jon Detwiler (Superintendent of Fremont City Schools).

Subject: 4-Way Essay Contest Winners
 
I am pleased to announce that this year we are recognizing the top four essay contestants due to a tie.  The winners are as follows:
                1st  ($300)         Andrew Chung                  Perrysburg Club
                1st  ($300)         Cassandra Kurek               Bucyrus
                2nd  ($200)        Elizabeth Elton                  Waterville Club
                3rd   ($100)        Kristen Twiss                      Fremont Club
 
For the four winners, please notify them of their success and invite them to them to the District 6600 Conference on May 11 at Kalahari.  They will be guests of the District on Saturday and can attend the Youth Conference from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. and lunch where they will be recognized and receive their award.  They can then end their time in the Waterpark from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
 
Congratulations to Kirsten Twiss, our Club representative who won the 3rd place at the District 6600 Rotary 4 Way Test Essay Contest.
