Our Club kicked off another exciting year with the STRIVE Program this morning at Fremont Ross High School. This year we are mentoring 20 high school seniors as they navigate through their final year of high school. It's great to see so many Students Taking a Renewed Interest in the Value of their Education!

  • Began the year with 21 students. One subsequently dropped out of the program.
  • 20 mentors, 6 of whom are Rotarians.
  • $720 in donations to financially support the program received from 11 Rotarians. Continuing to solicit funds.
  • Mentors provided with initial and refresher mentor training 0n September 17. The school brought in a professional speaker this year.
  • Criminal background checks of mentors completed.
  • First monthly group meeting held on September 18 with 16 students, 9 non-Rotarian mentors, 5 Rotarians, 1 potential Rotarian, and 3 school personnel in attendance. Topics: introductions, Rotary and STRIVE overview, student survey, ACT, career exploration, and upcoming meetings.
